How to Wash Out Hair Cream and Avoid Buildup

How to Wash Out Hair Cream and Avoid Buildup

Signs of Buildup

  • Hair looks dull, heavy or flat even right after washing.
  • Waves or curls lose definition.
  • Styling products stop working as well.
  • A film or flakes appear when you run your fingers through it.

How to Wash It Out

  1. 1Wet hair thoroughly with warm water; massage the scalp and lengths for a minute.
  2. 2Shampoo twice if you used a lot of product: the first wash loosens it, the second cleans.
  3. 3Rinse well, then condition the ends.
  4. 4Once a week or two, use a clarifying shampoo if you style daily.

Arganiss rinses out with regular shampoo and is designed not to leave heaviness behind when used in small amounts. See the FAQ.

Prevent It

  • Use a fingertip-sized amount, not a handful.
  • Keep product mostly to mid-lengths and ends.
  • Wash at night after a styled day.
